On Friday, December 20, 2024, the Women Empowerment and Legal Aid (WELA) team paid a heartwarming visit to St Monica’s Orphanage Home in Iju Ishaga, Ogun State. The visit was part of WELA’s commitment to spreading hope and uplifting the underprivileged, particularly during the festive season.
The delegation was led by WELA’s founder and chairperson, Mrs. Funmi Falana SAN, whose generosity and passion for humanity shone through the thoughtful donations made to the home. The team presented food items, ensuring the children had nutritious meals, and a cash donation to support the orphanage’s day-to-day needs.
Accompanying Mrs. Falana were WELA’s Program Director, Mr. Sola Agbaje, and the Principal of WELA Vocational College of Training, Mr. Felix Peter. Together, they exemplified the spirit of giving that WELA consistently embodies.
The visit was not just about donations; it was an opportunity to connect with the children. Their bright smiles and cheerful laughter as they welcomed the WELA team filled the atmosphere with joy and gratitude. Spending time with the children served as a reminder of the importance of compassion and community in ensuring no one is left behind.
The WELA team left St Monica’s Orphanage Home fulfilled, knowing that the gesture, though simple, had brought joy to the hearts of the children and lightened the burden of the caregivers.
Through initiatives like this, WELA continues to champion the values of love, care, and empowerment, building a society where everyone—regardless of circumstance—feels supported and valued.
As the year draws to a close, WELA remains committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and communities across Nigeria. This visit to St Monica’s Orphanage Home is a testament to WELA’s mission of empowering and uplifting the less privileged.
