WELA’S VISITS TO MOTHERLESS BABIES HOMES IN ONDO AND EKITI STATES

In August 2024, our organization, Women Empowerment and Legal Aid (WELA), embarked on a meaningful journey to Ondo and Ekiti States to visit two motherless babies’ homes. These visits were driven by our commitment to extending support and compassion to the young children residing in these homes.

On the 8th of August, we visited the Better Life Motherless Babies Home in Akure, Ondo State, a sanctuary for abandoned and orphaned children, where they receive essential care and love. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with heartwarming smiles from the children. We distributed food items and made a cash donation to assist with the home’s ongoing expenses. The joy and gratitude expressed by the children were truly inspiring.

Two days later, on the 10th of August, we continued our journey to the Erelu Adebayo Motherless Babies Home in Iyin Ekiti, Ekiti State. This home, like the one in Akure, serves as a haven for vulnerable children, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment. We were once again welcomed with the same warmth and affection. As in Akure, we provided food and made a cash donation, hoping to positively impact the lives of these young souls.

These visits were not just acts of charity but opportunities to connect with the children on a personal level, offering them hope and support. Our commitment to empowering women and providing legal aid extends to supporting vulnerable children, which we consider an essential part of our mission. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in their lives and look forward to continuing our efforts to support them in the future.
