BEFORE SHE WAS THROWN OUT, SHE WAS GROSSLY ASSULTED AND ABUSED BOTH PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY, TO THE EXTENT THAT SHE WAS HUSPITALISED ON SAVERAL OCCASSIONS. WELA HAVING TRIED TO MEDIATE TO NO AVAIL, FILED A PETITION IN 2013 FOR AN ORDER FOR THE DISSOLUTION OF THE MARRIAGE, AN ORDER GRANTING THE CUSTODY OF THE FIVE CHILDREN TO OUR CLIENT, AN ORDER SHARING EQUALLY BETWEEN THE PARTIES ALL PROPERTIES ACQUIRED DURING THE MARRIAGE, AN ORDER FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE CHILDREN BY THE RESPONDENT ETC. THE COURT ON THE 9TH DAY OF APRIL 2018, GAVE JUDGEMENT ON THE MATTER IN FAVOUR OF OUR CLIENT THUS: THE MARRIAGE WAS DISSOLVED, CUSTODY OF THE FIVE CHILDREN AWARDED TO OUR CLIENT, THE MATRIMONIAL HOME WAS DECLARED A JOINT PROPERTY AND OUR CLIENT ENTITLED TO OCCUPY SAME, THE SUM OF N100,000 EACH AWARDED AGAINST THE WIVES FOR COMMITING ADULTERY WITH THE RESPONDENT, N300,000 AS MONTHLY MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE FOR THE PETITIONER.
ENIOLA ADENUGA V.  DAMILOLA OGUN OUR CLIENT HAD A CHILD WITH HER BOY FRIEND, ENIOLA ADENUGA, WHO FILED AN ACTION FOR SHARED CUSTODY OF THE SAID CHILD. AT A POINT, THE APPLICANT TOOK THE CHILD AWAY COMPLETELY DEPRIVING THE MOTHER ACCESS TO HER DAUGHTER. WELA FILED A RESPONSE TO THE APPLICATION OF THE APPLICANT. AFTER A LONG LEGAL TUSSLE, JUDGEMENT WAS DELIVERED ON THE 16TH DAY OF AUGUST 2018 GRANTING THE CUSTODY OF ATHENA TO OUR CLIENT.

 

 

 

MATTERS IN COURT

OKOH V. OKOH THE HUSBAND OF OUR CLIENT ABANDONED HER WITH HER CHILDREN AND IS NOT READY TO HAVE THE MARRIAGE CONTINUE. WELA FILED AN ACTION IN COURT FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND CUSTODY OF THE CHILDREN MATTER STILL PENDING IN COURT
OKODUWA V. OKODUWA THE HUSBAND OF OUR CLIENT ABANDONED HER WITH HER TWO CHILDREN, USED THE POLICE TO PLACE A NO DEBIT ORDER ON THE SAVINGS ACCOUNT OF OUR CLIENT TO FRUSTRATE HER, LOCKED HER UP WHILE PREGNANT AT VARIOUS POLICE STATIONS TO INTIMIDATE HER, BEATS HER WHEREEVER HE SEES HER, LOCKED UP THE SHOPS OF OUR CLIENT, LOOTED THE ENTIRE SHOPS AND LOCKED HER OUT OF THE MARTIMONIAL HOME AND TRAVELLED TO ITALY. HAVING APPROACHED WELA, WELA WENT TO THE X- SQUARD IKEJA AND BAILED HER. WELA LATTER APPLIED FOR THE LIFTING OF THE POST NO DEBIT ORDER WHICH HAS BEEN VACATED. WELA CONSEQUENTLY FILED FOR THE CUSTODY AND MAINTENANCE OF THE CHILDREN AND FILED ALSO FOR A PROTECTION ODER FOR IN FAVOUR OF OUR CLIENT WHICH WAS GRANTED. MATTER STILL PENDING IN COURT.
EBELEBE  V. EBELEBE THE HUSBAND, WHO LIVES IN AUSTRALIA, ABANDONED THE WIFE AND THE 3 CHILDREN OF THE MARRIAGE. THE HUSBAND FILED FOR DIVORCE WELA HAS UNDERTAKEN TO REPRESENT JOY IN THE MATTER. WELA HAS FILLED A REPLY TO THE PETITION SERVED ON OUR CLIENT PRO-BONO MATTER STILL PENDING
IGWANIGIE V. IGWANIGIE THE CLIENT SAW THE WELA PROGRAM ON LTV. THE CLIENT’S HUSBAND SINCE TWO YEARS OF SEPARATION DOES NOT PROVIDE FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND WELFARE OF THE CHILDREN OF THE MARRIAGE.
